Tapestry has historically focused on assisting underserved members of the community. The Foundation has recently broadened funding priorities to include impediments to successful learning. Tapestry has seen significant success with its Social Emotional Learning (SEL) partnerships and grants. The Foundation provides start-up grants as well as multi-year funding. A limited number of grants are awarded to non-profits that further the values and goals espoused by the family. In rare instances, the Foundation will consider capital and operational expenses. Requests for endowment or for fund-raising event support are not encouraged. Applicants should review the Past Grants section of the web-site before submitting a letter of intent [LOI].
Tax-exempt organizations certified under sections 501 (c) (3) and 509 (a)(1), (2), or (3) of the Internal Revenue Code or public entities may submit only one LOI (Letter of Intent) electronically no later than February 1st. The LOI format is in the web-site's Application Process section. After thorough assessment by the Board and its Advisors, projects selected for further consideration will be invited to submit a full grant proposal due no later than April 1st.
The Foundation uses the Central Texas Education Funders electronic application form. Upon review, Foundation Board and Advisor members may contact the applicant for further information or clarification.
